Pop Legend Michael Jackson Dead at 50

Music icon Michael Jackson, whose fame spanned from his childhood with the legendary Jackson 5 to a superstar solo career that earned him the nickname 'King of Pop,' died Thursday afternoon at a Los Angeles hospital. He was 50.

His brother Jermaine Jackson confirmed Jackson's death from suspected cardiac arrest at a press conference Thursday evening.

Jermaine Jackson said his brother's physician was with him at his home at the time of his suspected cardiac arrest, and both the physician and the paramedics who transported to the UCLA Medical Center attempted to resuscitate him.

"Upon arriving at the hospital at approximately 1:14 p.m. a team of doctors, including emergency physicians and cardiologists, attempted to resuscitate him for a period of more than one hour, but they were unsuccessful," he said.

Jackson was pronounced dead at at 2:26 p.m. PDT, his brother said.

"My family request that the media please respect our privacy during this time, and may all love be with you Michael, always. We love you."

The L.A. County Coroner's Office has taken possession of Jackson's body and an autopsy is expected Friday.

Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Lt. Greg Strenk said the department's robbery-homicide department was investigating Jackson's death because of the high-profile nature of the pop star.

Multiple reports said he had gone into cardiac arrest, though the official cause of death wasn't immediately known.

Jackson's death brought a tragic end to a long, bizarre, sometimes farcical decline from his peak in the 1980s, when he was popular music's premier all-around performer, a uniter of black and white music who shattered the race barrier on MTV, dominated the charts and dazzled even more on stage.

Jackson was born in Indiana in 1958. He rose to fame as part of the successful pop group The Jackson 5, formed with his brothers in 1967. The group went on to earn four number one hits in 1970 alone, and the 12-year-old Jackson became the undeniable breakout star of the group.

In 1972, Jackson enjoyed his first solo hit with the song “Ben.” Six years later, he made his film debut in “The Wiz,” in which he renewed his friendship with producer Quincy Jones.

Collaborating with Jones, Jackson went on to become remarkably successful with his solo efforts “Off The Wall” in 1979 and “Thriller” in 1982.

From there, Jackson went on to become the undeniable “King of Pop,” winning eight Grammy awards for “Thriller” alone.

During the 1980s, he became an icon with a distinct style of fashion and performing, as well, wearing one sparkling glove, bejeweled military clothing and short pants with socks.

It was around this time that Jackson began experimenting with excessive cosmetic surgery, including lightening of his skin.

In 1992, Jackson founded the "Heal the World Foundation," a charity that brought underprivileged children to his Neverland Ranch, where Jackson would spend time with them and allow them to stay the night.

This practice raised many eyebrows, especially when Jackson was accused of molesting a 13-year-old boy who had become a regular Neverland guest. Jackson maintained his innocence. In 1994, he settled the case out of court for an undisclosed amount.

Jackson briefly was married to Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of Elvis. The union drew intense public scrutiny, there was speculation as to whether the marriage was simply an attempt to improve Jackson’s image, though he maintained that they lived genuinely as husband and wife; however, the marriage broke up after less than two years.

From there, his career never quite recovered, but he remained in the news, making headline after headline for strange and unusual behavior, including dangling his child over a balcony in Germany in 2002.

In 2004, police raided the Neverland Ranch, issuing an arrest warrant for charges of child molestation based on allegations of a boy who had appeared in Martin Bashir's infamous documentary about Jackson. Later that year, a man filed a lawsuit against him, alleging he had been molested 20 years earlier, explaining that he had repressed the memory until 2003. However, a judge eventually dismissed the lawsuit.

In 2005, he was cleared of charges he molested the 13-year-old cancer survivor at Neverland in 2003. He had been accused of playing the boy with alcohol and groping him. The case took a fearsome toll on his career and image, and he fell into serious financial trouble.

Jackson was preparing for what was to be his greatest comeback: He was scheduled for an unprecedented 50 shows at a London arena, with the first set for July 13. He was in rehearsals in Los Angeles for the concert, an extravaganza that was to capture the classic Jackson magic: showstopping dance moves, elaborate staging and throbbing dance beats.

Hundreds of people gathered outside the hospital as word of his death spread. The emergency entrance at the UCLA Medical Center, which is near Jackson's rented home, was roped off with police tape.

In New York's Times Square, a low groan went up in the crowd when a screen flashed that Jackson had died, and people began relaying the news to friends by cell phone.

"No joke. King of Pop is no more. Wow," Michael Harris, 36, of New York City, read from a text message a friend sent to his telephone. "It's like when Kennedy was assassinated. I will always remember being in Times Square when Michael Jackson died."

shopping motivation

" Beyonce Knowles' slim shopping motivation - Wednesday, 20 May 2009

CELEBRITY SPOTLIGHT - Beyonce Knowles buys clothes which are too small for her as a motivation to lose weight.
The singer-and-actress, who is famed for her curvy figure, admits it takes a lot of hard work for her to stay in shape so she needs to have a goal.
She said: "I buy something too small and then say, 'I have a reason.' I need to wear these jeans or this hot dress."
The 27-year-old beauty also says her dream of winning an Oscar drives her on when she is working out.
Talking about a painting in her gym which features the famous gold statue, she revealed: "I look at it, and I'm like, 'OK, I have to stay in shape.' "
Although she would like to lose a few pounds, Beyonce - who is married to hip-hop star Jay-Z - admits she wasn't happy when she shed 15lbs to play Deena Jones in 'Dreamgirls'.
She added to Self magazine: "I felt very chic, like a model. But it didn't look natural for me. I didn't feel very sexy or feminine, and I didn't have much confidence because I didn't feel like myself."

i read this article few days ago, then it crossed my mind. did i encounter the same crisis lately? i felt that nowadays, every time i buy new clothes especially tops and jeans i tends to find the smallest size i could possibly wear. i can fit in both S and M but now i prefer to buy S size, hoping that i can lose some weight and fit in perfectly on that clothes. of course it works! i can fit in on any clothes that i bought, in a week! and samore, i prefer tops with vertical stripes so i will look slimmer and taller. heeee. but i wont say ' no ' to tops with horizontal strips. no girls can say ' no ' to new hot clothes. LOL. I dont think its a bad thing but its definitely an addiction! sure, girls always have this feeling ~ " i cant be fat. i cant look fat. "
I also tends to use tournaments as excuses for hard training i always did in campus. 60% of the reason i trained so hard is because i want to cut some weight, burn few calories and stay in shape. another 40% of course, for gold medal. no wonder this year i havent got any gold yet. this year quite frustrating, but hopefully this august will promise me something, gold.

*** will pok teh sees me if i put on some weigh and a bit fatter than i am now? then i definitely willing to do that!

Gotta Find You

Every time I think I'm closer to the heart
Of what it means to know just who I am
I think I've finally found a better place to start
But no one ever seems to understand

I need to try to get to where you are
Could it be you're not that far

You're the voice I hear inside my head
The reason that I'm singing
I need to find you
I gotta find you
You're the missing piece I need
The song inside of me
I need to find you
I gotta find you

You're the remedy I'm searching hard to find
To fix the puzzle that I see inside
Panting all my dreams the color of your smile
When I find you it will be alright

I need to try to get to where you are
Could it be you're not that far

You're the voice I hear inside my head
The reason that I'm singing
I need to find you
I gotta find you
You're the missing piece I need
The song inside of me
I need to find you
I gotta find you

Been feeling lost, can't find the words to say
Spending all my time, stuck in yesterday
Where you are is where I wanna be
Oh next to you
And you next to me
Oh, I need to find you

You're the voice I hear inside my head
The reason that I'm singing
I need to find you
I gotta find you
You're the missing piece I need
The song inside of me
I need to find you
I gotta find you

- pok teh pee di mana? -

take a bow

How about a round of applause?
Standing ovation?

You look so dumb right now
Standing outside my house
Trying to apologize
You're so ugly when you cry
Please, just cut it out

Dont tell me you're sorry 'cause you're not
And baby when I know you're only sorry you got caught

But you put on quite a show, really had me going
But now its time to go, curtain's finally closing
That was quite a show, very entertaining
But it's over now
Go on and take a bow

Grab your clothes and get gone
You better hurry up before the sprinklers come on
Talking 'bout, "Girl, I love you, You're the one"
This just looks like a rerun
Please, what else is on?

And the award for the best liar goes to you
For making me believe that you could be faithful to me
Let's hear your speech out

*** letting u go is the hardest thing in my life, yet the best desicion i ever made.

Hancur hatiku, mengenang dikau
Menjadi keping-keping, setelah kau pergi
Tinggalkan kasih sayang,
yang pernah singgah, antara kita
Masihkah ada, sayang itu

Memang salahku, yang tak pernah bisa
Meninggalkan dirinya, ‘tuk bersama kamu
Walau ‘tuk t’rus bersama,
‘kan ada hati, yang ‘kan terluka
Dan ku tahu, kau tak mau

Sekali lagi maafkanlah,
karena aku, cinta kau dan dia
Maafkanlah, ku tak bisa,
tinggalkan dirinya

Mungkin tak mungkin, ‘tuk terus bersama
Jalani semua cinta, yang t’lah dijalani
Tapi bila itu yang,
kau pikir yang ter-baik untukmu
Bahagiaku, untuk dirimu

Simpan sisa-sisa, cerita cinta berdua
Walau tak tersisa, cerita cinta berdua

Still I have, in my eyes
Still I have forever

*** frust giler ari ni!!!!!!!!!!! waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.. xley trime. hati remuk.. hujan, tangisi la kehancuran hatiku ini!

Since the school holiday has started last week, my uncle and his family came to Terengganu for a holiday last weekend. So i quite became a tour guide and accompanied them to visit the popular places around Terengganu.

On Saturday, we went to Nor ArfA Batik as my aunt wanted to buy kain sutera. It was not a place for me, so i lazed around playing with the stuffs they sell. Hahaha

Then, after lunch we went to Taman Tamadun Islam (TTI) at Losong. That was my first time there too. At TTI, we walked around to see the monumens of Islamic building existed all around the world. There were 21 mosques there. It was very tiring but fun.
